For villagers, ferocious leopards are ‘guardians’

Leopards in Gujarat villages are seen as friends and protectors of crops by farmers. Over a dozen villages have learned to co-exist with the leopards, who keep the population of harmful animals in check. The locals play music and bang thalis to keep the leopards away while working in the fields at night.
